In order to promote SEMrush, you would need a SEMrush Affiliate account, which you can create via ShareAsale network.

It is free to register and you stand to make thousands of dollars through commissions, once your application is approved.

SEMrush offers recurring commissions of 40% on purchases from your affiliate link

This means, if you refer someone and they buy, say for instance, the Pro plan at $99.95 per month, you’re going to make $39.98 per month.

Now, imagine you refer 100 people, you make nearly 4k a month, which is pretty alluring.

Moreover, if you can market SEMrush to bigger enterprises, they’re likely going to go for the bigger plans like Guru ($199.95/month) or Business ($399.95/month) because of their needs, so the commissions, too, tend to become jucier.

Of course, this will not happen overnight but it is to hold a picture, in front of you, of what you might stand to gain from this program, if you can promote it effectively.

How do you Market SEMrush?

1. Know the pricing

It is important that you know the pricing plan and the right audience.

Neither do you want to recommend pro when they clearly need Guru nor would you want them to overpay for a larger if they don’t need it.

The Pro plan ($99/month) is ideal for small businesses or bloggers who are just starting out.

It allows you 500 keywords to track, 5 projects.

You will not have access to any historical data or positional tracking. Nor will you be able to track devices.

Lastly, this plan doesn’t include logo branding either.

The Guru plan (199.95/month) covers 50 projects, allowing 1500 keywords to track, historical date targeting and you can also target various devices for various projects.

You also get branding in your reports.

Guru is best for software as a service (SaaS) companies who has mostly online clients or agencies who are doing digital marketing for a lot of clients.

Finally, there’s the Business Plan (399.95/month) which offers higher limits on everything.

It offers 5000 keywords to track, 200 projects, reports white label, historical data muti targeting and API access included.

This plan is mainly for big enterprises who also uses multiple SEO tools to get the biggest picture possible.

2. Educate your readers

SEMrush is currently known as a research tool or a competitive research tool but your audience need to know the plethora of facilities that it offers and the amount of returns on an investment of less than $100.

The best way to do this is by using the tool yourself.

If you have used the tool it is easier to discuss and give recommendations and tips to others who might be interested in using the tool.

Your target audience should be people who are willing to use such tools.

Show them why they should use SEMrush and how it can help them grow their business.

3. Staying updated

SEMrush is constantly evolving, developing new updates and patches on its tools.

As an affiliate, you must stay up-to-date with the new features that are being rolled out, which you can transfer to your target audience.

Check the news section on the SEMrush website, often, for new updates or features.

Your monthly commission is paid twice a month via PayPal or Wire Transfer on the 10th and 25th of each month.

For Paypal, The minimum payout is $50 and for wire Transfer the minimum payout is $1000.

So, initially, you can start with PayPal before moving on to wire transfers when you are promoting more.

For example, if you refer 5 sales (initial sales, not rebills) shortly after joining, there is a $1000 bonus.

Cons

• More tailored information regarding the Affiliate Program could be more helpful

• The first cookie wins model can also be a drawback.

If a user has already clicked on someone else affiliate link but later buys from your affiliate link, you won’t get a commission

• Does not allow coupon promotion sites

Final Thoughts

If you are a blogger or a web content developer SEMrush is your go to shop.

Moreover, being a user you can better promote the tools to prospective buyers, thereby improving your overall earnings.

Keep in mind that you are at least 18 years old to join.

If you are running adult, gambling and coupon promoting websites, you are not allowed to register for BeRush.

You will not receive commissions for using your own affiliate links to purchase their plans.

You are also not allowed to refer to the company you work for and receive commissions for such referrals.
